Denia is located south of Valencia and north of Alicante on the Costa Blanca coast and is the closest point on the mainland to the island of Ibiza. The climate is mild with an average annual temperature of around 21 degrees and Denia is blessed with around 300 days of sunshine and 60% humidity.
Some 15 minutes from Denia the hot springs of Font Salada can be found, which is open all year round. A short distance inland there are plains and mountains making the area a perfect location for hiking.
The coast of Denia is frequently visited by people who enjoy windsurfing and kitesurfing. In addition to numerous sports centres and gymnasiums there is an equestrian centre located 12 km from the town and there are 3 golf courses close by, which also makes the area interesting to sports enthusiasts.
A short distance inland lies the Jalón valley where high quality wines are produced. The Valencian region is also well known for its gastronomy and is the birthplace of typical Spanish dishes, such as paella, fideuá and arroz negro (black rice).
From the historic castle in the very heart of Denia, which was constructed during the Islamic rule of Spain, you can enjoy stunning views of the mountains and the 14 km beach. There is also a small museum in the castle, which reflects the Roman heritage of this picturesque part of the Mediterranean coastline. The area surrounding the town is filled with rice fields and orange groves, the latter of which fills the air with beautiful aromas.
A few kilometres away from the town lies the unspoilt Montgo nature reserve, which boasts a protected flora of some 650 different species.
Denia is a popular tourist destination and Spaniards and foreigners alike have chosen it and its surrounding areas as their permanent residence.
So, if you want a holiday home or a property to live in all year round, Denia is a perfect choice and we would be delighted to assist you in making your dreams come true.
